We went on a hike near Manitou with Dana and her two dogs (Scruffy and Zoe). The red ground was too hot for Zoe's paws. We noticed this when we came across a stream and she jumped in to get her paws cool. She was slow to walk since the ground was so hot.

The three of us took turns carrying her the rest of the hike. Luckily she's not a heavy dog (maybe 40 pounds).
