Dr. White of Mathematics was the dude in our section. I knew him and liked him a lot. (I had him for calc II.)
When he came around he said he was certain he knew how to pronounce my name but I said, "actually, no. I'm Jewish. My name is pronounced "hanis eelin mewselman'." And I reiterated the "hanis" with a throat sound on the H.
Unfortunately, he didn't believe me.
